Originally, the Tiki-Take term was used in a derogatory way. Athletic Bilbao and Spain manager Javier Clemente used the term in the 1980s and 1990s to mock teams that passed aimlessly for the sake of it, without a plan to attack. Something that Brendan Rodgers often had thrown at him at Swansea and Liverpool.
